1. This plug shut-off allows for the complete removal of the oil pump assembly and its components.
Other methods require the user to disassemble the oil pump/drive unit to install a plate and gasket. This plug allows you to remove the pump as a single unit. If desired, you can also remove the oil tank and lines. Installation is quick and requires only a few basic tools.
2. One of the best performance improvements for the BW-80 or PW-50 is to remove the oil pump and install a premix plug. The standard oil pump is often inaccurate, delivering either too much or too little oil to the engine, resulting in significant power loss. Premixing the oil and gasoline eliminates the need for the standard oil pump assembly and the power it draws from the engine. Even worse, a low-oil engine leads to premature wear or, in many cases, catastrophic engine failure.
