Check the AC output of the stator.
Replace all burnt or corroded connections on the stator and regulator/rectifier.
Check and repair any melted cables.
Use high-temperature resistant dielectric grease for all connections.
How do you distinguish between a CDI box with AC and a CDI box with DC ignition?
If the headlights switch on without the engine running (only when the key is in the ignition), it's a DC system. The engine must also be running to switch on the headlights; this is also a DC system. If it operates without a battery, it's an AC system.
What does the voltage regulator do?
