The sealing plate, which fits between the EGR valve and the cooler, is made of laser-cut 1.5 mm thick stainless steel. The cooler plates are made of 2 mm thick stainless steel and have been tumbled to make them smooth and give them a rough surface that ensures a better seal.
The Transit MK7 and MK8 suffer from leaking EGR coolers. This can give the impression that the cylinder head gasket has blown. Two things can happen: (1) Exhaust gases enter the engine coolant, pressurizing the system and forcing water out. I know of several engines that have failed due to this problem. (2) Water is forced into the intake system if it stagnates, which can cause a hydraulic blockage that also ruins the engine.
There are two different types of EGR coolers: one with a round tube and one with a square tube section. The kit includes three plates: one for mounting on the EGR valve end of the cooler and two larger plates, allowing one to be mounted between the exhaust manifold and the EGR cooler. Only one plate, corresponding to the specific EGR cooler type, is pre-installed.
It fits EURO 4 and 5 engines.
MK7 Transit, which came onto the market from 2006, 2.2 and 2.4 TDCi PUMA engine (Puma ZSD-422 and ZSD-424) and the 3.2-liter five-cylinder engine.

Advantages of EGR blockage
1. Cleaner engine oil ensures a longer engine lifespan.
2. The turbo starts faster and at lower engine speeds.
3. Prevents soot deposits in the intake manifold and valves, which reduce performance.
