Replace any burnt or corroded connectors on the stator and regulator/rectifier.
Check and repair any melted wires.
Use high-temperature dielectric grease for all connectors.
How do you distinguish a CDI box with AC ignition from a CDI box with DC ignition?
If the headlights switch on without the engine running (only with the key in the ignition), it's a DC system. With an AC system, the engine must be running to switch on the headlights. Another indicator of a DC system is if the engine can only be run with a battery. If it runs without a battery, it's an AC system.
What does the voltage regulator do?
The function of this regulator is to convert the alternating voltage (AC) generated by the alternator into the direct voltage (DC) of 12 V used in the vehicle electrical system and to keep the voltage within a certain range.
The voltage regulator is also responsible for ensuring that the battery is charged and the light bulbs do not burn out.
