Replace all burnt or corroded connections on the stator and regulator/rectifier.
Check and repair any melted cables.
Use high-temperature resistant dielectric grease for all connections.
How do you distinguish between a CDI box with AC and a CDI box with DC ignition?
If the headlights turn on without the engine running (with the key in the ignition), it's a DC system. With an AC system, the headlights require the engine to be running. Another indicator is if the engine runs solely on battery power; it's a DC system. If it runs without a battery, it's an AC system.
What does the voltage regulator do?
The function of this regulator is to convert the alternating current (AC) generated by the alternator into the direct current (DC) 12V used in the vehicle's electrical system and to keep the voltage within a certain range.
