How do you distinguish between a CDI box with AC firing and a CDI box with DC firing?
If the headlights turn on without the engine running (only with the key in the ignition), it's a DC system. In an AC system, turning on the headlights requires the engine to be running. Another indicator is if the engine runs solely on battery power; it's a DC system. If it runs without a battery, it's an AC system.
