The SSR system begins with a traditional solid steel hub, but adds a rubber sleeve to one end of the hub for damping. The rubber sleeve dampens the propeller during gear changes and absorbs shocks and vibrations. Once the propeller is under load, the stainless steel end of the hub engages with the propeller core, creating a robust hub capable of reliably transmitting the significant power generated by today's four-stroke outboard motors.
