If you want the optical output to support 5.1-channel output, the following conditions must be met:
1. The audio source must be a DTS 5.1 channel, e.g., 3D games or high-resolution videos. If it is a standard MP3 or a standard 2-channel video, it can only have 2-channel effects.
2. Player settings are very important: If you are using PowerDVD software, set the output to "Passthrough" from the fiber optic cable. This means that the sound card is only responsible for outputting the fiber optic signal without decoding it. It is recommended to use the KMP player, which is very powerful.
3. The fiber optic output must be connected to an AC3/DTS decoder or a power amplifier with a built-in AC3/DTS decoder.

Purpose 1: Connecting the computer to 5.1-channel speakers. If the speaker's audio input is a 3.5 mm stereo interface, you will need three 3.5 mm stereo audio cables. If the audio input is an RCA Lotus connector, you will need three 3.5 mm to Lotus adapter cables. After connecting the sound card to the computer and installing the driver, connect the audio cables. Regarding software, it is recommended to use decoding or perfect decoding, as well as KMP, etc.
Purpose 2: Set the decoding to S/PDIF output, configure the sound card to enable S/PDIF output, and then play the audio. (Use only the standard decoding settings here. You can also select other options, such as re-encoding the DD5.1 ​​output depending on the situation.) A special reminder: Fiber optic output is direct source code output to an external decoder, such as a power amplifier, for decoding, independent of the channel output.
Purpose 3: The settings above are for watching movies. If you are using it for karaoke, you only need to enable the "Stereo Mix" input option in the Mixer tab; you can also select it in the relevant software. (Note that when using Stereo Mix, the microphone reverb function cannot be used.))
