Circuit diagram:
The green cable with (loop connection) is connected to ground.
The green cable with horseshoe connector is connected to the green terminal of the coil.
The yellow cable with horseshoe connector is connected to the yellow connector of the coil.
The brown cable is connected to the white cable on the stator.
The red cable (with 2 connections) is one for the black cable from the stator, the other for an emergency stop switch connection.
Align the stator and pickup in the center of the adjustment and use an air gap the thickness of a business card or 0.012 inches.
NOTE: If you continue to experience problems, try reversing the stator.
Troubleshooting
Replace spark plug – many spark plugs fail over the years, so replace the spark plug and adjust the electrode gap to 0.76 mm (0.030 inch).
Using the business card, adjust both the pickup (white wire) and the stator (black wire) to a distance of 0.010-0.012 inches from the rotor.
Position both the pickup (device with white wire) and the stator (device with black wire) in the center of the slide adjustment.
Check that the green ground wire is attached to the same screw as the ignition coil ground under the tank on the frame (make sure the ground is free of debris).
ONLY in extreme emergencies: Reverse the stator
