Porsche models G96/00, GT2, GT3, and Boxster 686/20 with 6-speed transmissions occasionally experience a problem with second gear popping out. If the problem has just started and there is no transmission damage, this upgrade is a proven and popular solution! This locking mechanism is also by far the most cost-effective option. Installation is relatively simple and can be done with the existing transmission still installed in your Porsche.
This improved locking mechanism won't fix a pop-out problem if the gearbox is already internally damaged, but it can certainly help prevent it. We install it in all our conversions and we haven't seen a single pop-out issue after installing this part.
