Description

Thanks for checking.
This is for the M9R DCi (1995 cc) Euro4 and Euro5 (Vauxhalls are CDTi). This blanking plate is laser-cut from 1.5 mm thick 304 stainless steel and has been tumbled to smooth it and give it a worn surface for a better seal. It fits between the exhaust extension pipe and the EGR cooler (see pictures), which is held in place by two bolts at the front of the engine. It can also be fitted at the rear next to the turbo. The plate should NOT be fitted to the EGR valve itself, as this has a flap valve that opens towards the connecting pipe, which could stop its movement and cause it to go into limp mode.
This plate activates the engine management light, but does not switch the engine to limp mode. (A hole in it would still activate the EML, so it would be pointless.) It is slotted to facilitate installation.

Suitable for the M9R engine from 2005 onwards, depending on the model. Not suitable for Euro 6 (from approximately mid-2017).

Serena, Bluebird Sylphy, X-Trail, Qashqai, Sentra, Teana, Primaster

Renault Clio, Koleos, Laguna, Latitude, Safrane, Megane III, Scenic, Fluence, Trafic

Also fits the Vauxhall Vivaro 2.0L with the M9R engine. Does not fit later models with the Fiat 2.0L engine.

Advantages of blocking exhaust gas recirculation:

1. Cleaner engine oil ensures a longer engine lifespan.)

2. The turbocharger starts up faster and at lower engine speeds.

3. Prevents soot deposits in the intake manifold and valves, which reduce performance.

4. A smoother ride and usually lower fuel consumption

5. Less black smoke, therefore easier to pass the main inspection.

6. The DPF/FAP stays clean longer, therefore less regeneration is required.
