This cover plate is suitable for the M9R 2.0L and the M9T DCi 2.3L (2299 cm³) Euro 4 and Euro 5 engines. It is made of laser-cut 1.5 mm stainless steel and has been tumbled to create a smooth, roughened surface for improved sealing. The plate is mounted between the exhaust extension pipe and the EGR cooler (see illustrations), which is attached to the front of the engine with two bolts. Alternatively, it can be mounted at the rear next to the turbocharger. The plate should NOT be mounted directly on the EGR valve, as this has a flap that opens into the connecting pipe and would block its movement. This could trigger limp mode.
This plate will cause the check engine light to illuminate (although some have reported that it doesn't), but it does not trigger limp mode. (A hole in the plate would still cause the check engine light to illuminate, so the plate is pointless.) It is slotted for easier installation.
Suitable for the M9T engine from model year 2005 onwards, depending on the model. Not suitable for Euro 6 (from approx. mid-2017).
Suitable for Vauxhall/Opel Vivaro 1 (2006–2014) and Vivaro 2 (2014–2018) with the 2.3-liter engine (M9T). Not suitable for the later Vivaro 3 with the 1.6-liter GM engine or the Euro 6-compliant 2.0-liter PSA engine.
