This blanking plate is made from laser-cut 1.5 mm thick 304 stainless steel and has been tumbled to smooth it and give it a rough surface for a better seal. It fits between the exhaust extension pipe and the EGR cooler (see illustrations), which is held in place by two screws at the front of the engine.
This plate activates the engine management light, but does not switch the car to limp mode. (A hole in it would still cause the EML to illuminate, so it would be pointless). It is slotted to facilitate installation.

1. Cleaner engine oil contributes to a longer engine lifespan.)
2. Turbo starts faster and at lower RPMs)
3. Prevents soot deposits in the intake manifold and valves, which reduce performance.
4. A smoother ride and usually lower fuel consumption
5. Less black smoke, therefore the vehicle passes the main inspection.
6. The DPF/FAP stays clean longer, therefore less regeneration is required.
