The Apexi Auto Timer keeps the vehicle idling for a preset time after the ignition key is removed. This prevents hot engine oil from coking in the lines of turbocharged vehicles. Hard driving can cause the engine oil temperature to rise to dangerously high levels. Proper cooling is essential for a healthy turbocharger and engine. In naturally aspirated cars, the Auto Timer can also be used to heat or cool the interior without requiring anyone to be inside.
