The most restrictive part of an exhaust system is the catalytic converter. The stock catalytic converter is designed to filter the exhaust flow to reduce the amount of harmful gases in the atmosphere. This significantly limits potential power. Downpipes eliminate the stock catalytic converter and reduce exhaust backpressure. By maximizing exhaust flow, this downpipe allows the turbocharger to spool up faster and build boost. The result unlocks the vehicle's performance potential by providing it with a free, high-flow exhaust system.
